THE STORY: This image was captured in August 2007. It was my second time visiting the Mara, the first being three years before. This time, it was a self-planned trip with friends who were photography enthusiasts, just like me. Being with a small group of friends allowed us to make our own itinerary, and spend as much time as we wanted at a wildlife sighting, instead of dashing from place to place like is the norm in group tours.
