Issue 9 Nov-Dec 2020

In October of this year, the youth of Nigeria gave voice to a cry that had been bubbling up in the deepest parts of the hearts of the people of the Land of Light. As it broke forth, it’s as if the heavens had been waiting to receive the wail of a generation that was being crushed under the boot of a corrupt and oppressive police unit. The cry to #ENDSARSNOW reverberated across the continent of Afrika and from the continent, it traversed the oceans and went to far off lands, where sons and daughters of Nigeria amplified it. As one voice.

The transcendent power of unity that they demonstrated stirred up our hearts and rebirthed hope, in a continent that has stayed silent for too long, complied with oppression for too long, been robbed of its dignity and it sense of family and stability … for far too long. And the barren wombs of our imaginations and our hearts’ desire were reawakened with new seed of inspiration and desire for change. Change that had been far too elusive, was suddenly brought near.

Afrika, the birth pains of change are upon you. Will you yield and bring forth new realities to transform this continent?
Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.

Proverbs 13:12 (NKJV)
