Sesame oil is also known as gingelly oil and is extracted from the sesame seed. It is an edible oil and is considered to be a relatively easy (therefore inexpensive) oil to extract and one that comes loaded with some mighty benefits. It is best extracted when the seeds have burst out of their outer shells.
The oil contains zinc, copper, calcium, vitamins E and K and choline and is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids.
